Another Week Come and Gone!
Hard to believe, but it's the end of another week. School was very busy as we put the final touches to the addition of high school (grade 10 and 11) to our building and start getting ready for the new teaching staff to arrive this weekend just in time for Orientation Week to start on Sunday. The first three new crop were picked up from the airport on Thursday evening and I had a chance to meet them on Friday morning and they were great...both Christine and I kind of chuckled inside as they are saying the same kinds of things that we were a couple of weeks ago about the experiences they have already have - so much will change for them in just the next week!!!! We will look after them and they will do great!! Last night the next batch of arrivals did not go as smoothly, but we will sort all of that out today!!! We are moving into a local hotel today for the next couple of days as the HR department begins moving our stuff over to our new villa and getting the utilities and such ready to go over there! Looking forward to it - you can google the hotel (Al Raha Beach Resort)...it's no Spedden Motel, but it will do!!! Gonna take the youngsters down to Marina Mall sometime today to give them their first taste of the big city and then head off to the hotel later on.....Have a great week everybody and we'll talk to you soon!!!!! For those of you not on Facebook and Skype....what are you waiting for!!!!11

Nice! It seems like they have some good supports in place for new teachers. I`m a recent grad from Alberta Canada that has taught at the International School of Macau and is now working as a teacher in Japan. Maybe Abu Dhabi is next?? We`ll see! GOod luck!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how small this world is, when I said hello when I read your first blog post, how was I to know that Bianca would actually be in your class! Amazing, just learnt today that she will be with Christine this year.
